Implementing an EMS can become very complicated without any help from outside. It is therefore recommended to obtain support from an external party. Phase 1: Context analysis 

An ISO 14001 implementation starts in the first phase with determining the context of the organization. Phase 4: Evaluation 

The management review is your annual environmental plan in which several important aspects of the environmental system (inputs & outputs) are evaluated by top management. It could be your energy consumption, waste recycling, transport etc. It is a look back on the past year and a look ahead to the coming year(s).  

Phase 5: Internal audit 

As a permanent and mandatory part of a certifiable environmental management system, an organization must periodically perform an internal audit. An internal audit is an assessment of whether what has been described is still correct and is being properly applied. It is important that you look a little further, namely whether it still makes sense for certain things to be done in that way. Here it is also important that an external will carry it out.
